About the Role

Develop and drive enterprise group strategy to accelerate growth opportunities for Ventia. The role is based at our North Sydney Corporate Head Office with a hybrid working environment. Reporting to the Group Executive Strategy and Corporate Affairs, the General Manager will shape and execute Ventia’s long‑term vision, translating high‑level strategy to the CEO, Executive Leadership Team and Board. The role leads a focused team, develops group strategy and drives actionable initiatives with clear strategic outcomes, and oversees the enterprise approach to strategy, customer, and cross‑sector work‑winning opportunities, requiring exceptional leadership and stakeholder‑management capabilities. • Support the Group Executive of Strategy and Corporate Affairs in developing, driving, and executing the group strategy and growth acceleration opportunities. • Monitor and report on enterprise strategic execution and initiatives, tailoring competitive intelligence to assess positioning and inform decisions. • Collaborate with Sector Group Executives and business unit General Managers on business planning and development to ensure alignment with group objectives. • Facilitate sector business unit and client sessions across a range of strategic initiatives. • Monitor long‑term market trends to identify growth opportunities. • Oversee enterprise approach to customer segmentation and feedback, ensuring sector accountability for continuous improvement. • Act as an active voice shaping the enterprise agenda for M&A, client centricity, safety, sustainability, diversity, innovation, digital enablement, and business improvement.

What You Bring

Ideal candidates will have spent significant time within a large‑scale strategy house, advising on B2B initiatives, and possess relevant industry exposure to lead and influence business and client strategic goals. • Hold tertiary qualifications in Business Management, Finance, Legal or similar. • Possess deep strategy experience with a large consulting firm and relevant industry exposure across essential infrastructure. • Demonstrate well‑developed experience in B2B, work‑winning strategy environments and exposure to M&A transactions. • Seasoned in structuring and executing strategic initiatives and partnerships. • Exhibit strong business acumen and critical strategic thinking, generating concepts from capture to planning and execution. • Maintain exceptional interpersonal and relationship‑management skills with the ability to influence outcomes across stakeholder groups. • Expertise in financial modelling. • Highly analytical, data‑driven, with critical thinking ability to turn insights into inspiring communication.
