About the Role

The role involves leading engineering efforts for battery storage projects, overseeing analysis, documentation, and compliance throughout the project lifecycle. Effective communication with clients, manufacturers, and internal project leaders is required, as is providing guidance to design staff and contributing to process improvements. • Design Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and associated DC/medium‑voltage switchgear and distribution networks. • Conduct system studies including ampacity, load flow, short‑circuit, and loss analyses using tools such as CYME or ETAP. • Prepare, schedule, coordinate, and monitor engineering project deliverables and progress. • Review client requirements, interpret specifications, and liaise with manufacturers on equipment drawings. • Ensure compliance with IEEE, NESC, NEC, NFPA codes and company QA/QC standards. • Perform quality control checks on drawings and study reports, issuing corrective actions as needed. • Direct designers and drafters, providing drawing requirements and technical guidance. • Collaborate with BESS Manager, Project Manager, and multi‑disciplinary teams to support project execution. • Contribute to development of standards, process optimizations, and staying abreast of emerging technologies.

What You Bring

Applicants should possess a degree in electrical or renewable engineering and several years of experience in power system design or analysis. The ideal candidate holds an Engineer‑in‑Training certification, is prepared to obtain a professional license, and can travel as needed. Strong organizational, multitasking, and communication abilities are essential. • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Renewable Engineering; Master’s degree a plus. • 3–5+ years experience in BESS, renewable energy, distribution, or medium‑voltage power systems. • Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification with ability to obtain PE license. • Ability to travel up to 25 % of the time. • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook; experience with system‑study software (CYME, ETAP) preferred. • Familiarity with IEEE, NESC, NEC, NFPA codes and standards. • Strong organizational, multitasking, communication, and teamwork skills. • Experience with HOMER Energy, Toolbase, ESWare, PV/Wind systems, or construction is advantageous.
