About the Role

The manager will oversee environmental permitting for multiple projects, coordinate timelines, conduct impact assessments, and manage consultant deliverables across various environmental disciplines. They will also serve as the primary liaison with federal and state regulatory agencies and represent design and construction teams on environmental matters. • Complete environmental permitting for varied projects, from SEQR short forms to joint applications. • Track and coordinate permit timelines, providing administrative support throughout project phases. • Oversee upcoming projects requiring environmental review and regulatory compliance. • Coordinate environmental impact assessments such as SEQRA. • Conduct procedural requirements for Environmental Impact Statements, Environmental Assessments, and related studies. • Manage consultant deliverables covering endangered species, ecology, energy, air/noise, visual, and environmental justice aspects. • Participate in project meetings with staff, consultants, and regulatory agencies; prepare written communications. • Liaise with US Fish and Wildlife Service, US Army Corps of Engineers, NYS Department of State, and NYS OGS on permit applications. • Represent design and construction on environmental matters with federal and state agencies. • Assist in preparing environmental permit applications and approvals.

What You Bring

Candidates must have at least eight years of NYS SEQR and Army Corps permitting experience (a master’s degree may substitute two years), a relevant degree, and recent NYS regulatory work. Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills are required to manage a portfolio of projects and coordinate with designers and agencies. • Minimum 8 years experience in NYS SEQR and Army Corps permitting (master’s can offset 2 years). • At least 50% of work time spent on NYS SEQR environmental impact statements, consultations, or investigations. • Degree in Environmental Science, Planning, Architecture, Engineering, Landscape Architecture, or related field. • Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities to manage multiple project portfolios. • Excellent organizational skills for workload and information management. • Proven ability to coordinate with designers and NYS/federal regulatory agencies. • Recent (within 2 years) NYS work experience and familiarity with current NYS environmental regulations. • Authorized to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship.

The position offers a salary range of $120,000–$150,000, a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, and a positive work environment.
