About the Role

The office‑based role focuses on relay protection and control engineering for high‑voltage substations, delivering detailed designs such as one‑line, three‑line, elementary diagrams and relay panel front‑view layouts. Responsibilities also include AC/DC load calculations, battery sizing, and cable sizing, while ensuring compliance with codes and standards. • Design relay protection and control systems for high‑voltage substations, including one‑line, three‑line, elementary diagrams and relay panel layouts. • Perform AC/DC load calculations, battery sizing, and cable sizing. • Make engineering decisions on complexities and methods, applying advanced techniques and standards. • Plan, estimate, schedule, coordinate and monitor design activities with multidisciplinary teams. • Prepare accurate technical reports, correspondence, calculations and documentation. • Provide technical expertise to identify, analyze and resolve engineering problems. • Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, policies and procedures. • Mentor and guide developing engineers within the department. • Conduct QA/QC on protection and control design packages to verify scope compliance. • Support company goals and represent the firm professionally.

What You Bring

We are looking for an Electrical Engineer with a BSEE or higher and at least six years of experience in protection and control for high‑voltage substation design. Candidates should possess knowledge of protective relay products (Schweitzer, Siemens, Areva, ABB), experience with utility switching stations, and familiarity with SCADA, fiber‑optic communication and power distribution systems; a PE license is preferred. • BSEE or higher with 6+ years experience in protection and control for high‑voltage substation design. • Knowledge of protective relays (Schweitzer, Siemens, Areva, ABB) and ability to create schematics, microprocessor relay diagrams, and control/alarm wiring. • Experience with utility switching stations/substations and related equipment such as transformers, circuit breakers, GIS, regulators, and capacitor banks. • Familiarity with protective relay schemes, fiber‑optic communication, SCADA, metering and power distribution systems. • Professional Engineer (PE) designation preferred. • Strong communication skills and ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
