About the Role

The Design Engineer implements project designs, improves existing products, and ensures fit, form, and function according to department procedures and project plans. This role involves researching and evaluating product cost efficiency and reliability, creating specifications, and coordinating with other departments to meet customer specifications and company standards. • Design, model, and test product prototypes. • Conduct research and develop design proposals. • Create concepts, performance, and production criteria. • Identify and select materials needed for production. • Produce final hand drawings, specifications, and parts lists. • Apply value engineering and fabricate demonstration samples. • Participate in product marketing planning initiatives. • Negotiate appropriate production processes. • Evaluate products and processes for cost efficiency and reliability. • Collaborate with engineering and other departments to meet production schedules. • Use CAD to create concepts and layout pumps and systems. • Follow department processes, provide feedback, and suggest improvements. • Utilize SolidWorks, GD&T, and FEA for design engineering tasks. • Analyze sketches, specifications, and drawings to determine design factors. • Perform equipment layout and fundamental engineering calculations. • Review designs for compliance with engineering principles, standards, and customer requirements.

What You Bring

The position requires physical activity such as standing, walking, reaching, climbing and lifting up to 25 lb, and may involve overtime, travel to client sites, and work in both office and industrial environments. Safety training, PPE compliance, and adherence to EHS policies are mandatory. Applicants need a bachelor’s degree in an engineering field, proficiency in SolidWorks, GD&T, and FEA, and at least five years of design engineering experience. Compensation ranges from $28.75 to $38.98 per hour, and Nikkiso CE&IG promotes an inclusive, equal‑opportunity workplace. • Maintain advanced proficiency in the MS Office Suite. • Wear required PPE and adhere to all safety protocols.
