Job Highlights
About the Role
• Examine building plans and specifications for compliance with architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, energy, green building, accessibility, and egress code requirements. • Coordinate plan review with other public agencies, itemize required corrections, and explain them to permit applicants. • Authorize issuance of building permits for code‑compliant plans and calculate associated fees. • Advise architects, contractors, builders, and the public on interpreting building regulations, state laws, and local ordinances. • Submit workload, process statistics, new product information, and code interpretation reports to jurisdictional Building Officials. • Assist jurisdictional building counters by answering questions related to plans and permitting requirements.

What You Bring
• Minimum 5 years of plan‑check experience. • Municipal experience. • ICC Plans Examiner Certification. • Thorough knowledge of building codes. • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
