About the Role
Key responsibilities include ensuring engineering development with complete multidisciplinary information, leading new solutions for complex projects, driving completion of all engineering activities, and coordinating disciplines across several projects. The role provides technical support for testing, installation and commissioning, designs and conducts experiments, prepares project documents, may act as design authority, delivers cost‑effective quality solutions within budget, creates work plans and cost estimates, and reviews scope, budget and schedule while interacting with customers, officials, contractors and the supply chain. The impact of the role involves applying standard engineering techniques, supporting testing and commissioning, preparing documentation and proposals, assisting customers on technical issues, and supporting contract managers with claims and risk assessments. Collaboration with supply chain ensures technical requirements are communicated and supplier proposals are evaluated. The role also shares best practices, reports process inefficiencies, coordinates with other engineers and staff, and upholds health, safety, environmental and sustainability policies. • Lead multidisciplinary engineering design and development for complex high‑voltage projects. • Coordinate resources, create work plans, and manage scope, budget, and schedule across projects. • Provide technical support for testing, installation, commissioning, and experiment execution. • Prepare comprehensive project documentation, proposals, and bills of materials. • Act as design authority and ensure cost‑effective, quality solutions within contract terms. • Conduct risk assessments, ensure safety compliance, and mitigate project risks. • Collaborate with supply chain to evaluate supplier proposals and define technical requirements. • Support contract managers with claims, change orders, and risk/opportunity analyses. • Share best practices across engineering teams and improve processes and tools. • Uphold Hitachi Energy’s values of safety, integrity, and environmental sustainability.

What You Bring
Compliance with external and internal regulations, procedures and guidelines is essential, as is living Hitachi Energy’s core values of safety and integrity, taking responsibility for actions while caring for colleagues and the business. Candidates must hold a bachelor’s engineering degree, have at least five years of experience in the high‑voltage utility or renewables sector, be registered or eligible for CPENG and RPEQ, be skilled in MS Word and Excel, and possess strong English communication skills. • Minimum 5 years high‑voltage utility/renewables experience; bachelor’s engineering degree; CPENG/RPEQ registration or eligibility. • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and strong English communication.
