About the Role

As an extension of production leadership, the role ensures uninterrupted production flow in assigned areas. The incumbent provides problem support, on‑the‑job training, and serves as the first point of contact for production, connecting with various support resources to resolve issues and meet department goals. The position backs up the Supervisor, identifies and escalates concerns, and serves as the primary contact for the area team. Responsibilities include interviewing and onboarding new associates, guiding employee development, monitoring attendance, conducting first‑piece inspections, coordinating material movement, operating equipment, and supporting Lean and safety initiatives. • Provide backup to the Supervisor and act as primary contact for the assigned production area. • Identify, escalate, and resolve department concerns and production issues. • Assist in interviewing, onboarding, and training new associates. • Guide employee development to meet production goals and conduct first‑piece inspections. • Monitor attendance, shift start‑up, hand‑off, and break times. • Coordinate material movement and communicate with support resources to maintain flow. • Operate and set up equipment such as CRTs and forklifts as needed. • Lead Lean initiatives (5S, Kaizen) and participate in safety committee activities. • Maintain First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications and report safety hazards promptly. • Uphold nVent policies, standards, and core values.

What You Bring

Candidates need a high school diploma or G.E.D., with 3‑5 years of production or warehouse experience preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP systems, knowledge of the assigned process operations, safety policies, and strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills are required. The role also demands the ability to train operators, drive continuous improvement, and adapt to a rapidly changing business environment. The job requires the ability to bend, squat, reach overhead, climb stairs or ladders, stand for extended periods, and lift up to 50 lb. • High school diploma/GED; 3–5 years production or warehouse experience preferred. • Proficient with Microsoft Office and ERP systems for production roles. • Knowledge of the assigned process operations and safety policies. • Strong analytical, problem‑solving and effective oral/written communication skills. • Ability to train operators on standard work and support continuous improvement. • Adaptable to rapid business changes and able to thrive in a dynamic environment.
