About the Role
Drivers operate a variety of heavy‑duty trucks equipped with front, side, or rear lift attachments to collect and transport waste, recyclables, and roll‑off containers. The role requires navigating congested streets, driveways, alleyways, and industrial sites, often performing precise backing maneuvers with loads that can exceed 1,000 lb. All work is performed in compliance with WM’s safety policies, OSHA, DOT regulations, and applicable laws. Drivers conduct vehicle inspections, report hazards, attend required training, and collaborate with operations managers to improve route efficiency and address customer needs. Drivers are expected to operate vehicles safely and reliably, represent the company professionally in the communities they serve, and benefit from opportunities for advancement and a supportive work environment. • Operate heavy‑duty trucks with front, side, or rear lift attachments to haul waste and recyclables. • Perform pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections and complete DVIR documentation. • Navigate high‑traffic residential, commercial, and industrial routes while executing precise backing maneuvers. • Safely unload containers, ensuring the customer site is left clean and free of debris. • Report unsafe conditions, incidents, and service interruptions promptly to Operations Manager or Dispatch. • Communicate customer requests and route changes to dispatchers in a timely manner. • Collaborate with the Operations Manager to identify route efficiencies and share best practices. • Meet physical demands such as standing, walking, lifting heavy loads, pushing, pulling, crouching, and reaching.

What You Bring
Candidates must possess a valid Class A or B commercial driver’s license with an air‑brake endorsement, at least one year of recent commercial or military driving experience, be at least 18 years old, and be legally authorized to work in the United States. A high school diploma or GED is preferred. The position involves frequent standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, and handling of heavy containers, as well as periods of sitting and communication with customers and dispatch.
