Geotechnical Project Engineer
Lead geotechnical design & project management for dams and water infrastructure

About the Role
• Apply advanced geotechnical engineering theories to solve critical and unique project issues. • Lead interpretation, organization, execution, and coordination of large or complex engineering assignments. • Direct geotechnical analyses and design for foundations, retaining structures, anchors, soil nails, and slopes. • Develop project design concepts, criteria, and research for complex elements. • Serve as technical specialist in proposal preparation. • Manage multidisciplinary project teams and act as Project/Client/Proposal Manager when needed. • Conduct QA/QC reviews to ensure high‑quality deliverables. • Supervise engineers and technical specialists. • Collaborate with clients to ensure satisfaction and support business development. • Prepare engineering memoranda, reports, design drawings, and specifications. • Provide construction observation support and guidance to management staff. • Prepare design cost proposals and assist marketing and business development efforts.

What You Bring
The position requires successful completion of a criminal background check and GFT is an equal opportunity employer. • Hold a B.S. in Civil Engineering from an ABET‑accredited program. • Possess 5–10 years of progressive geotechnical engineering experience. • Proficient with geotechnical software (SLIDE, SLOPE/W, LPILE, APILE, GROUP, GRLWEAP, Settle3, gINT). • Skilled in preparing and reviewing PS&E documents and estimates. • Experienced with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MS Office.
