About the Role

• Perform roadway engineering and design assignments, applying techniques, procedures, and design criteria for projects of varying size and complexity. • Develop horizontal and vertical geometry, analyze cross sections, and calculate super‑elevations for highway and road projects. • Write and edit project specifications and prepare design calculations, technical reports, and engineering plans. • Utilize AutoCAD Civil3D, MicroStation and/or InRoads, as well as drafting and 3D modeling software, to create conceptual and detailed designs. • Conduct material quantity takeoffs, construction cost estimates, and senior reviews of engineering documents prepared by others. • Lead technical proposal writing, graphics development, and mentor/supervise engineers on transportation projects.

The company’s Irvine, California office is seeking a highly experienced Principal Engineer to support major road and highway projects for Caltrans and other regional clients. The role involves leading engineering work and contributing to successful project delivery across a diverse range of transportation projects in Southern California, collaborating with regional planning agencies, counties, cities, and transit agencies. • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related field) with at least 10 years of road/highway experience, preferably including Caltrans horizontal/vertical geometrics work. • Possess Professional Engineer (PE) registration (preferred) and demonstrated experience managing staff and performing quality reviews. • Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills with internal staff and clients.
