About the Role
As a Security Access Specialist, you will control, monitor, and grant access to restricted and controlled areas of the airport while also conducting security inspections and screening of individuals, vehicles, and items at access points throughout the facility. You will operate closed‑circuit television and communication systems, staff perimeter and interior access control gates, verify credentials, monitor alarms associated with the ID/Access Control System, and report any suspicious or unusual occurrences to the Airfield Supervisor or Port of Seattle police. Routine and special security inspections of restricted access areas will be performed, along with preventive maintenance and testing of access control card readers, documenting any discrepancies and conducting follow‑up inspections. You will enforce proper ID media requirements, issue citations for security violations, implement security measures according to the designated threat level, and assume special duties during declared aircraft emergencies as directed by Incident Command. Construction activities will be monitored for compliance with airport rules, FAA regulations, and safety standards, while you operate basic security equipment such as X‑ray machines, metal detectors, and explosive detection devices, conducting visual and pat‑down searches as needed. Visitor badges, Vehicle‑Under‑Escort signs, and coordinated escorts for personnel and ground vehicles will be issued, and you will maintain comprehensive written and electronic documentation of daily activities and any observed security violations. • Operate CCTV and communication systems to monitor access points. • Staff perimeter and interior gates, verify credentials, and respond to access alarms. • Conduct routine and special security inspections of restricted areas. • Perform preventive maintenance and testing of access control card readers. • Enforce ID compliance, issue citations, and apply security measures per threat level. • Respond to aircraft emergencies and coordinate with Incident Command. • Monitor construction activities for compliance with FAA and airport regulations. • Use X‑ray machines, metal detectors, and explosive detection equipment at screening checkpoints. • Issue visitor badges and vehicle‑under‑escort signs, coordinating escorts for authorized personnel. • Maintain written and electronic logs of daily activities and security violations.

What You Bring
