About the Role
The Safety Manager promotes a safe and healthy work environment and drives continuous improvement of Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) systems to reduce incidents and ensure regulatory compliance. The role assists in developing and directing safety programs and works with project‑level functional leads, such as journeymen and service technicians, to integrate safety and health requirements into work products and activities. • Conduct safety assessments and inspections to ensure compliance with contractual, legal, and site‑specific EHS requirements. • Develop and implement environmental, safety, and security policies and procedures with internal and external stakeholders. • Identify and eliminate workplace injuries, accidents, and health hazards. • Create Method of Procedure documents, site‑specific safety plans, critical activity plans, and work permits. • Investigate injuries, accidents, spills, theft, vandalism, and property damage, producing root‑cause analysis reports. • Deliver safety and compliance training for supervisors and field employees as directed by corporate safety leadership. • Prepare comprehensive written reports documenting site visits, activities, and incidents.

What You Bring
Candidates need extensive experience in large commercial construction, with a strong background in injury prevention, compliance, and risk reduction. Preferred qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in environmental health and safety plus 10+ years of full‑time construction safety management, or equivalent trade experience with recognized safety credentials such as CSP, CIH, ASP, or CHST, and appropriate OSHA certifications. Required certifications include a current OSHA 30 construction certificate, OSHA 500, 501, and 510, and competencies in electrical safety (NFPA 70E), excavation, fall protection, and confined space. The role also demands First Aid, CPR, AED certifications, experience with return‑to‑work programs, and the ability to lead emergency events. The Safety Manager must be self‑driven, able to work independently or as part of a team, flexible to split shifts, overtime, weekends, and travel as needed, and proficient with Microsoft Office applications. Strong analytical, problem‑solving, supervisory, and leadership skills are essential. Physical duties include occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, and working in confined spaces. The role requires regular communication, hearing, sitting, walking, reaching, and visual acuity, and may involve exposure to extreme temperatures, heights, and elevated positions for inspections.

The position is located near Reno, NV, at a construction site on USA Parkway. It is a full‑time role with a day shift, offering an hourly rate of $40.29 to $63.51. Travel up to 25% may be required.
