About the Role
In this role the technician performs a variety of maintenance duties, including addressing resident service requests, repairing building systems, and keeping apartments, common areas and amenities clean and functional. The employee also participates in scheduled preventive-maintenance projects and on-call rotations to uphold Weidner’s quality standards. • Prepare apartments for occupancy (painting, drywall repair, trash removal, mechanical, plumbing, electrical work). • Respond promptly to daily resident service requests. • Repair electrical, plumbing, boiler, hot water heater, HVAC and appliance systems. • Perform carpentry, drywall, and interior/exterior painting, selecting appropriate paint type and sheen. • Clean pools, monitor chemical balance, and maintain required logs. • Conduct daily grounds maintenance, including trash pickup, pet waste removal, and walkway sweeping. • Participate in property improvement and preventive-maintenance tasks as scheduled. • Join the on-call rotation according to schedule. • Ensure market-ready apartments, common areas and amenities meet Weidner’s quality standards. • Lift and carry up to 80 lb; operate appliance dolly (push/pull up to 200 lb) and climb ladders and stairs. • Work outdoors in all weather conditions and remain on feet for entire shift. • Follow Weidner’s mission, vision, values and all company policies, including Fair Housing laws. • Maintain regular attendance, wear uniform, and present a professional appearance. • Provide reliable personal transportation, a valid driver’s license and up-to-date vehicle insurance; pass background check and agree to voluntary drug testing.

What You Bring
Applicants should have at least one to two years of maintenance experience, strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions. The position requires reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license and insurance, and adherence to company policies, Fair Housing regulations, and safety procedures. • Possess 1‑2 years of maintenance experience and mechanical aptitude. • Maintain knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, pool, irrigation and HVAC systems; certifications (HVAC, CPO, EPA) desired. • Communicate professionally in person, phone, email, or text. • Use Microsoft Office Suite; willing to learn Yardi and Paycom software.
