About the Role

The Structural Welder will weld, fabricate, and assist pipe fitters, electricians, millwrights, and ironworkers in installing equipment and supports for industrial pipe, structural, electrical, and mechanical systems. • Perform stick welding on diverse equipment and materials. • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical manuals. • Execute welding in 2G, 3G, and 4G positions using various rods (e.g., 6010, 7018). • Select equipment, plan layouts, and apply proper welding techniques considering metal properties. • Layout, cut, align, assemble, and fit metal components in multiple positions. • Secure parts with bolts, clamps, and tack‑welds before final welding. • Set up and operate arc, gas‑shielded, submerged‑arc, or arc‑gas welding equipment. • Weld metal to piping systems following appropriate procedures. • Identify required tools, equipment, and safety hazards for each job. • Meet all physical demands, including lifting up to 50 lb, standing, bending, and working at heights. • Use appropriate PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, respirator, vest, gloves, leather boots) in all conditions. • Provide reliable transportation and assist other trades when not welding. • Comply with Zachry’s safety, drug‑free, and equal‑opportunity policies.

What You Bring

Reporting to the project lead, this role has no direct reports and requires strict adherence to safety protocols, use of personal protective equipment, and the ability to work at heights, on ladders, and in various weather conditions. • Hold current Zachry welding certification or pass required weld test. • Leverage 4+ years of industrial welding experience. • Possess and bring required tools on start date (toolbox, stinger, TIG rig, welding hood, etc.).
