About the Role
The Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) Advisor supports delivery and continuous improvement of operational, administrative, and maintenance systems related to HSEQ within the Cross River Rail (CRR) project. This role assists the UGL Facilities Maintenance (FM) team by contributing to robust documentation, operational procedures, and reporting frameworks to ensure compliance with the FM Subcontract, Project Scope, Technical Requirements, and contractual obligations. The HSEQ Advisor ensures maintenance activities, asset management issues, documentation, and legislative obligations are addressed efficiently and supports positive safety and quality outcomes while reducing operational risk. • Alert UGLFM management and client representatives to abnormal occurrences or concerns. • Maintain WHSEQ records according to the UGLFM filing structure and QMS requirements. • Support delivery of WHSEQ training as defined in the training matrix. • Communicate with QR, WHSEQ authorities, and regulators to stay informed of legislative changes and industry trends. • Assist in developing, reviewing, and updating UGLFM Maintenance Management Plans and procedures. • Store all documentation, records, and correspondence in line with the Quality Management System. • Support implementation and maintenance of safety, environment, and quality systems to meet project and certification standards. • Help ensure compliance with rail‑specific, facility maintenance, and workplace health and safety legislation while driving continuous improvement. • Provide advice on health and safety matters to project teams and escalate issues when needed. • Collaborate regularly with the Senior Project Manager and operational teams to support safe work systems. • Support development and maintenance of Facilities Maintenance (FM) Plans with the project team. • Assist in building relationships with Queensland Rail WHSEQ contacts for system alignment. • Contribute to preparing and rolling out management plans, procedures, and communication materials. • Maintain comprehensive records and registers to support decision‑making and compliance. • Ensure reporting meets internal service standards and promotes transparency for management and clients. • Prepare and compile WHSEQ reports, including data for safety, environmental, and quality plans.

What You Bring
Candidates should have a minimum of five years’ experience in operations, maintenance or facilities maintenance environments, preferably on major infrastructure projects. Formal qualifications in quality, safety and/or environment and experience conducting WHSEQ audits are required. Strong time management and prioritisation skills are essential.
