About the Role

As a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer for Aeroderivative Gas Turbines, you will lead design and development activities for new and existing products, driving technical improvements with deep knowledge of complex concepts. You will be accountable for mechanical design and durability tasks on turbine components and assemblies, ensuring high impact delivery to the business. Mechanical design duties include 3D part modeling, hand calculations, tolerance stack‑up analysis, definition of geometric tolerances, resolution of non‑conformities, supplier qualification, and management of BOM and configurations within PLM. Durability work involves understanding interface and component requirements, performing thermal and structural FEM analyses—both static and dynamic—conducting failure analyses such as HCF and LCF initiation and crack propagation, and supporting component qualification through laboratory testing and field performance reviews. You will collaborate with aero and thermal teams, coordinate global engineering groups, and facilitate cross‑functional technical discussions across engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and supply chain. Additional responsibilities include managing outsourced engineering tasks, condition‑based maintenance activities, presenting ideas and analysis results in design reviews, and documenting all work in design record books. • Lead projects on aeroderivative gas turbine systems for existing fleets and new products. • Own mechanical design activities, including 3D modeling, hand calculations, tolerance analysis, GD&T definition, and BOM/PLM management. • Perform mechanical durability work: thermal/structural FEM, static and dynamic analysis, HCF/LCF failure analysis, and component qualification testing. • Collaborate with aero, thermal, manufacturing, procurement, and supply‑chain teams to ensure integrated design execution. • Manage outsourced engineering tasks and condition‑based maintenance activities. • Present design reviews, sign‑off drawings, and document work in design record books. • Provide advanced technical training and promote an innovative team culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • mechanical design
  • 3d modeling
  • fem analysis
  • failure analysis
  • bom management
  • design reviews

What You Bring

The role also expects you to champion innovation, embed a forward‑thinking culture within the team, and develop advanced technical training for colleagues. Success requires a master's or bachelor's degree in mechanical, machine design, or aerospace engineering, at least five years of experience in mechanical design calculations, 3D modeling, PLM, and finite‑element analysis, and proficiency with tools such as NX, Teamcenter, and ANSYS. Strong knowledge of technical documentation, GD&T, BOM management, and supply‑chain processes, along with excellent oral and written English communication skills and solid engineering fundamentals, are essential. We are an energy‑technology company operating worldwide, built on a century of experience and serving customers in over 120 countries, delivering safer, cleaner, and more efficient energy solutions. • Require a degree in mechanical/aerospace engineering and 5+ years of relevant experience. • Proficient with NX (Unigraphics), Teamcenter, ANSYS (Classic, Workbench, Topology Optimization), and familiar with GD&T and supply‑chain processes. • Excellent English communication skills and strong engineering fundamentals needed.
