About the Role
The Field Operator (FO) role maintains equipment at water production facilities, booster stations, wastewater treatment plants, lift stations, and sewer collection systems. Responsibilities include operating distribution and collection systems, troubleshooting and repairing service piping, performing water quality analyses, adjusting chemical treatments, and completing customer service work orders while following safety and regulatory standards. • Maintain and operate water production, booster, wastewater treatment, lift, and sewer collection equipment. • Perform routine water quality testing and adjust chemical treatments to meet state and federal standards. • Troubleshoot, repair, and service distribution mains, valves, hydrants, and service lines. • Complete and document customer service work orders in accordance with company policies. • Use computer systems for data entry, calculations, and equipment monitoring. • Be available for on‑call nights and weekends to support 24/7 operations.

What You Bring
Applicants must hold a high school diploma or GED, possess a valid U.S. driver’s license, and be willing to obtain a CDL Class C with Hazmat endorsement within 90 days. No prior experience is required, but familiarity with computers, spreadsheets, and basic math for dosage calculations is preferred. The position may involve exposure to extreme temperatures, noise, wet or humid conditions, and the need to lift up to 75 lb. Employees must be on‑call nights and weekends to support 24/7 operations and may travel to various Essential Utilities sites. • Possess a high school diploma/GED, valid U.S. driver’s license, and obtain CDL Class C with Hazmat endorsement within 90 days. • Obtain required water licensing (Class IV, III, II, or dual B‑Well/Grade II & A‑Well/Grade III) per career level. • Demonstrate strong interpersonal, written communication, and teamwork skills. • Ability to lift/carry up to 75 lb and work in hazardous environmental conditions.
