About the Role
The Plant Maintenance Technician monitors and maintains the operation of all plant systems and equipment, such as balers, conveyor belts, gearboxes, electrical motors, pulleys, shafts, and bearings. The role responds to system failures by taking corrective action, either completing repairs or assigning them, to keep systems safe and efficient. This position reports to the Plant Maintenance Manager. Technicians are expected to perform repairs in line with WM Safety and Life Critical Rules and OSHA standards, conduct preventive maintenance inspections, and rebuild major equipment components. They also manage the Daily Equipment Inspections backlog, adjust work procedures to meet production schedules, and coordinate with the Senior Plant Maintenance Manager when work exceeds standard repair times. Additionally, they inspect third‑party repairs, recommend improvements, and handle emergency breakdown service calls. • Perform repairs following WM Safety, Life Critical Rules, and OSHA regulations. • Conduct preventive maintenance inspections, diagnose, repair, and rebuild major equipment and components. • Maintain the Daily Equipment Inspections (DEI) backlog. • Adjust work procedures to meet production schedules and alert the Senior Plant Maintenance Manager when work exceeds Standard Repair Times. • Inspect the quality of third‑party repairs and rebuilds. • Recommend improvements to production, equipment performance, and product quality. • Manage multiple priorities and multitask effectively. • Respond to emergency breakdowns with service calls. • Provide a flexible schedule that may include nights and weekends to support plant operations. • Keep a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.

What You Bring
The role requires at least two years of relevant experience, a minimum age of 18, and legal eligibility to work in the United States. Work is performed in both indoor gas‑plant environments and outdoor conditions that may include inclement weather, heat, and humidity.
