About the Role
The Directional Drill Operator/Locator supports directional drilling for the installation of underground conduit and fiber optic cable. You will operate a horizontal directional bore in collaboration with the Drill Locator, locate utilities, coordinate daylighting, and transport heavy equipment to and from the job site each day. Ensuring public safety and protecting existing underground utility facilities are core parts of the role. • Operate horizontal directional drilling equipment to install underground conduit and fiber optic cable. • Locate and coordinate utility facilities, ensuring safe daylighting and protection of public infrastructure. • Transport heavy drilling equipment to and from job sites daily. • Maintain high safety standards and adhere to utility locate procedures.

What You Bring
The ideal candidate prioritizes safety, delivers high‑quality work, and enjoys hands‑on problem solving. At least two years of utility directional drilling experience in an urban environment, familiarity with Vermeer or Ditch Witch drills, and the ability to read maps, drawings, and diagrams are required. A valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record is also necessary, along with a desire to make a positive impact on the local community. • Possess minimum 2 years of urban utility directional drilling experience with Vermeer or Ditch Witch rigs. • Hold a valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record and ability to read maps and drawings.
