About the Role

The Energy Manager enables the client’s energy‑reduction programmes through monitoring, targeting, and interventions on building services. The role supports the dedicated Engineering Maintenance team to ensure that client assets are maintained and operated as efficiently as possible. Key duties include performing deep‑dive audits of HVAC and electrical systems to identify optimisation opportunities, delivering tactical BMS optimisation recommendations, and monitoring data systems to enhance asset energy performance. The manager aligns with the BGIS Building Performance team, supports data‑led infrastructure migration, and acts as the super‑user of the BGIS AMI platform when required. In the energy monitoring function, the manager reviews data analytics to spot adverse trends and produces progress reports, monitors performance in line with NABERS principles, and manages energy‑related queries and on‑site investigations, including BMS interventions with the Engineering Team. They also oversee utility and non‑utility meter data collection to ensure accurate monitoring and address any gaps. Engagement and governance responsibilities involve building and nurturing stakeholder relationships, acting as the gatekeeper for Design Operations (DESOPS) change control, and supporting the implementation of client energy and carbon‑efficiency recommendations. The manager liaises with Engineering and Building Performance teams, and develops an Energy Champions forum with training to promote awareness of energy and utility usage. • Conduct deep‑dive audits of HVAC and electrical systems to identify optimisation opportunities. • Implement BMS optimisation recommendations and serve as super‑user of the BGIS AMI platform. • Monitor energy data, detect adverse trends, and produce progress reports aligned with NABERS standards. • Manage on‑site investigations, BMS interventions, and ensure accurate utility meter data collection. • Build and maintain stakeholder relationships while overseeing DESOPS change control. • Establish and lead an Energy Champions forum with training to raise energy awareness. • Apply strong analytical and problem‑solving skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. • Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation (COSHH, PUWER, Electricity at Work Regulations) on building services.
