About the Role
The engineer will determine methods for collecting, compiling, and analyzing data from physical work sites, surveys, blueprints, GIS, subsurface utilities, maps, hydrologic and geotechnical sources. Responsibilities include performing professional structural engineering work, developing construction plans, specifications, cost estimates, safety and phasing plans, and coordinating with owners, sub‑consultants, and other disciplines. Additional duties encompass quality‑control, structural analysis, preparation of detailed reports and narratives, administration of construction processes such as reviewing RFIs and submittals, and coordination with architects, construction managers, and trades. The role also includes providing guidance and training to entry‑level engineers, preparing health and safety plans, and interacting professionally with regulatory agencies and clients. • Conduct structural analysis and develop designs for buildings, bridges, and other load‑bearing elements. • Collect, compile, and analyze site data, surveys, GIS, geotechnical and hydrologic information. • Prepare construction plans, specifications, cost estimates, and safety/phasing plans. • Produce 2D/3D drawings, visualizations, reports, and technical presentations. • Coordinate with architects, contractors, sub‑consultants, and regulatory agencies. • Lead and mentor junior engineers, providing training and technical guidance. • Manage small‑ to mid‑size projects, tracking hours, expenses, and QA/QC compliance. • Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and sustainability practices. • Maintain quality‑control procedures and perform statistical analysis of measurements. • Develop and implement site Health and Safety Plans (HASPs) and uphold safety policies.

What You Bring
Advanced modeling techniques and future‑ready design solutions will be incorporated to ensure safety and functionality for end‑users and transportation systems. Working individually or within cross‑functional teams, the engineer will execute multiple concurrent projects, lay out installations, select durable materials, calculate costs, ensure compliance with permits and regulations, and produce visualizations and reports. Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, possess 5‑7 years of relevant post‑degree experience, and have an Engineer‑in‑Training certification. Required competencies include strong knowledge of structural principles, design/build processes, infrastructure planning, sustainability concepts, relevant codes and regulations, and proficiency with software such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, ANSYS, and others. The individual should demonstrate project management, effective communication, self‑leadership, QA/QC adherence, and a solid safety record. • Required: Bachelor’s degree in structural/civil engineering, 5‑7 years experience, EIT certification. • Proficiency with MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, ANSYS, and related engineering software. • Strong project management, communication, and problem‑solving skills. • Ability to work independently and lead cross‑functional teams.

Benefits

Compensation is expressed as an hourly rate of $47.00‑$55.00, with the final offer dependent on experience, location, and internal equity. Occasional travel may be required based on project needs. • Comprehensive benefits package and hourly salary of $47‑$55.
