About the Role
The engineer will perform planned preventative maintenance on all electrical and mechanical plant, respond to breakdowns across the site, and conduct fault‑finding on low‑voltage systems, UPS, generators, and air‑conditioning equipment. Using graphical data and alarm systems, they will diagnose faults, monitor environmental conditions via the Building Management System, and address defects promptly to maintain operational continuity. They will also supervise subcontractors, enforce Permit to Work procedures, keep detailed maintenance records, ensure spare‑part availability, maintain clean and secure plant rooms, promote a safe working environment, and keep the Computer‑Based Maintenance System (e.g., Maximo) updated while supporting site management as needed. • Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on all electrical and mechanical plant per site schedules and asset lists. • Respond to reactive maintenance tasks and breakdowns across the site, including concessionary stores and fabric‑related issues. • Conduct fault‑finding on low‑voltage systems, UPS, generators, and air‑conditioning systems. • Use graphical data and alarm systems to diagnose and resolve faults. • Monitor and maintain environmental conditions via the Building Management System (BMS). • Address plant faults and defects promptly to ensure operational continuity. • Manage and supervise subcontractor activities, ensuring safe and compliant work practices. • Operate and enforce the Permit to Work system in line with BGIS and client health & safety procedures. • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including reactive and PPM tasks, method statements, risk assessments, near‑miss reports, and dynamic risk assessments. • Ensure availability of spare parts and provide estimates for remedial works. • Keep plant rooms clean, secure, locked, and presentable at all times. • Promote a safe working environment by wearing appropriate PPE and uniform. • Ensure compliance with contractual KPIs and SLAs, updating the Computer‑Based Maintenance System (e.g., Maximo) with accurate data. • Support the site management team with additional tasks as required. • Interpret technical data and alarms effectively for fault diagnosis. • Commit to health & safety and quality standards.

What You Bring
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Bias Maintenance Engineer to ensure continuous operation and optimal performance of critical building systems. The role focuses on both planned and reactive maintenance, with a strong emphasis on electrical fault finding, system reliability, and compliance. Candidates must have proven electrical maintenance experience in commercial or critical environments, a strong understanding of LV systems, UPS, generators, and HVAC, and the ability to interpret technical data and alarms for fault diagnosis. Familiarity with BMS and environmental controls, excellent communication and teamwork skills, and a commitment to health, safety, and quality standards are essential. • Demonstrate proven experience in electrical maintenance within commercial or critical environments. • Show strong understanding of LV systems, UPS, generators, and HVAC systems. • Familiarity with BMS systems and environmental controls. • Exhibit excellent communication and teamwork skills.
