About the Role
In this role you will support construction projects by observing and documenting field activities, sampling and testing a variety of materials such as soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, and structural steel. You will perform calculations and data reduction, draft test results, operate field screening equipment, and read maps and engineering plans. Daily interaction with contractors, technicians, and project managers will help you become the trusted on‑site representative of ECS. • Observe and document field activities during construction. • Sample, test, and inspect soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, and structural steel. • Perform calculations, data reduction, and drafting of test results. • Operate field screening equipment and record readings. • Read maps, follow directions, and interpret engineering and construction plans. • Communicate daily with contractors, technicians, and project managers. • Represent ECS as the sole site representative.

What You Bring
We are looking for a candidate actively pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related discipline who is interested in how building materials are used in construction. The position requires the ability to lift 40‑70 lb repeatedly (occasionally up to 85 lb), reliable transportation to job sites (mileage reimbursed), and an understanding that relocation assistance is not provided. The role offers an hourly wage of $16–$20, with final compensation determined by location and individual qualifications. • Pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field. • Capable of repeatedly lifting 40‑70 lb and occasionally 85 lb to waist height. • Must have reliable transportation for job sites (mileage reimbursed).
