Senior Engineer
Provide civil/structural engineering design and consultancy support throughout home development

About the Role
In this role you will provide engineering designs and support throughout every stage of the development process, from initial viability advice to design development, technical consent and construction support. You will assess consultant designs for cost‑effectiveness and compliance, commission and manage civil and structural consultants, and liaise with NHBC to ensure pre‑construction standards are met and conditional items are resolved. Internal applicants should inform their line manager if they wish to apply for this role. • Interpret geotechnical reports and recommend solutions. • Prepare initial site designs, constraints plans, and viability assessments. • Procure designs and quotes for new utility proposals. • Apply CDM regulations and ensure compliance throughout projects. • Resolve engineering issues during planning applications. • Manage and coordinate civil and structural consultants for roads, sewers, cut‑and‑fill and drainage designs. • Liaise with Highway Authorities, Water Companies and the Environment Agency to address statutory requirements. • Ensure designs meet building regulations and NHBC standards, including foundations and plot drainage. • Monitor and resolve CML issues during construction to keep plots on schedule. • Provide complete engineering drawings and details for foundations, sub‑structure, highways, utilities and remediation before site start. • Secure technical approvals for highways, sewerage, land drainage, utilities and water management. • Procure and manage existing and proposed utilities at all project stages. • Prepare deed plans, setting‑out drawings and contribute to LEADR, CDM and health‑safety plans. • Compile tender documentation for specialist works such as piled foundations, grouting and ground improvement.

What You Bring
• Possess extensive house‑building engineering experience (roads, sewers, foundations, drainage, utilities). • Hold an engineering degree or equivalent, preferably accredited by RICS or ICE. • Demonstrate high proficiency in AutoCAD, PDS, Windes and MicroDrainage. • Ability to design civil works in‑house and assess external consultant designs. • Strong understanding of technical and regulatory requirements and ability to interpret environmental reports.
