About the Role
The Quantity Surveyor – Environment role is based in Rickmansworth with travel across regional sites. You will manage the commercial aspects of sizeable construction projects, ensuring sustainable outcomes and supporting the delivery of the company's ambitious pipeline of work. • Prepare, negotiate and manage subcontract documentation, terms and pricing. • Administer subcontract packages, including interim assessments and change control. • Issue commercial notices and handle compensation events in line with contract requirements. • Produce and agree monthly applications with clients. • Collaborate with operational teams to maintain accurate site records and monitor budget variances. • Deliver detailed monthly cost reports and cost variance reconciliations (CVRs). • Lead final account negotiations to achieve optimal outcomes. • Support business targets for cash flow, profit and return on capital. • Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships to generate repeat business. • Identify and manage risks and opportunities to enhance margin performance. • Attend progress and risk meetings with clients and subcontractors.

What You Bring
• Strong knowledge of standard construction contracts and processes. • Proficiency in Excel, Word and cost management systems such as CEMAR, Asite and Orbit. • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. • Proven ability to negotiate and settle final accounts. • Professional qualification (MCIOB or MRICS) or progression towards membership (desirable). • Civil engineering experience in highways, rail, water or aviation sectors. • Experience on large projects or multiple smaller schemes. • CSCS certification where appropriate.
