About the Role

The Millwright will install, repair, and maintain complex industrial machinery in chemical plants and refineries. The role requires reading blueprints and technical manuals, using precision alignment tools, and performing preventative maintenance. Candidates must have at least five years of relevant experience, strong problem‑solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. • Install, repair, and maintain industrial plant machinery. • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to determine work procedures. • Use industrial hand and power tools. • Work with high‑complexity precision machines such as ball mills, turbines, conveyors, and hydraulic systems. • Plan, inspect, verify, and document work scope. • Measure angles, thickness, and distances with precision leveling, calipers, micrometers, and optical tools. • Fit bearings, align gears, attach motors, and connect belts per manufacturer drawings. • Dismantle machines using hammers, wrenches, and crowbars. • Assemble and install shafting, conveyors, and tram rails. • Bolt, weld, rivet, and fasten equipment to foundations or structures. • Operate engine lathes, grinders, and files. • Construct machinery foundations when required. • Fabricate and install parts by measuring, cutting, drilling, and welding. • Turn machine parts to dimensional specifications. • Unload, inspect, move, and position equipment using cranes, hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks. • Rig and hoist equipment using chokers, chain falls, and come‑along devices. • Perform preventative maintenance, including lubrication and repair of worn parts. • Follow supervisor directions and complete other assigned duties. • No direct reports, but may oversee helpers and laborers as needed. • Use arms and hands to handle tools and materials. • Work at heights, on ladders, stairways, and platforms. • Maintain visual acuity for short and long distances, color, depth, and peripheral vision. • Operate outdoors in various weather conditions for up to 12 hours per day.

What You Bring

• Possess 5+ years of millwright experience in chemical plants and refineries. • Have reliable transportation and availability to work on short notice, including up to 7 days. • Demonstrated experience in industrial construction and maintenance. • Proficiency with hand, power, and layout tools (lasers, ultrasonic, plumb bobs, cutting torches, welding equipment, hydraulic tools). • Knowledge of industrial machinery and equipment. • Understand load characteristics of cables, ropes, hoists, and chains. • Use certified hand signals. • Strong organization and time‑management skills. • Effective problem‑solving abilities. • High manual dexterity and aptitude. • Knowledge of mathematics, geometry, and layout principles. • Ability to lead others and provide clear instructions. • Good reading comprehension. • Team player with ability to work independently. • Excellent communication with co‑workers and supervisors. • NCCER certification for Journeyman Industrial Millwright. • Prior employment with Zachry (ROF’ed or former employee). • Basic computer proficiency. • Perform extensive standing, walking, bending, squatting, and lifting (up to 50 lb). • Communicate verbally and audibly. • Exhibit fine hand dexterity for precision adjustments. • Wear required PPE including hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, respirator, vest, gloves, and steel‑toe boots.
