About the Role

Working Tuesday through Saturday, 8:30 am‑5:00 pm, the technician will ensure the community’s physical condition remains high by addressing maintenance requests promptly and keeping vacant units ready for occupancy. This role supports AvalonBay’s mission of providing superior living environments through reliable and innovative property upkeep. • Diagnose and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing, appliances, carpentry, emergency systems, flooring, hardware, masonry, painting, water features, and waste management systems. • Complete service requests and repairs promptly in accordance with company standards. • Prepare vacant apartments for rent‑ready status and perform turnkey work as needed. • Conduct preventive maintenance on apartment units. • Paint interior and exterior surfaces as required. • Follow safety policies to maintain an incident‑free environment and report hazards. • Perform hot‑work tasks such as brazing, soldering, and welding per standards. • Provide strong customer‑service communication with residents and associates. • Read and follow key‑control, turnover, and emergency policies and procedures.

What You Bring

• 2–3 years of maintenance experience covering HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general repairs. • Valid driver's license. • Available for monthly on‑call rotation. • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, SDS, and proper use of PPE. • Basic understanding of emergency system shutoffs and operation sequences. • Familiarity with paint types and tools.
