About the Role
In this position you will supervise grounds and garden maintenance teams to ensure estate upkeep, inspect and manage site grounds and gardens, ensure work aligns with Gardens and Grounds requirements, and follow established delivery and inspection plans. Downer plans, creates, and sustains essential public services across Australia and New Zealand, managing critical infrastructure from hospitals to data centres, and has received accolades such as Estate & Infrastructure Business of the Year (2025) and Prime Contractor of the Year (2024, 2025). • Supervise grounds and garden maintenance teams to ensure estate upkeep. • Inspect, maintain, and manage site grounds and gardens. • Align delivered work with Gardens and Grounds standards. • Follow Grounds and Gardens delivery and inspection plans. • Utilize the Employee Assistance Program for personal and family support.

What You Bring
The role commences in February 2026 and we welcome candidates from all backgrounds, whether they bring Defence experience, industry knowledge, or transferable skills from other sectors. The ideal candidate holds a Certificate III/IV in Horticulture or a Diploma in Landscape Management (both desirable), has grounds maintenance and horticulture expertise, can obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance (citizenship required), and holds a current open driver’s licence, along with a strong work ethic and positive attitude. • Hold a Certificate III/IV in Horticulture (desirable) or a Diploma in Landscape Management (desirable). • Possess grounds maintenance experience and horticulture expertise. • Obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance (citizenship required). • Hold a current open driver’s licence. • Demonstrate strong work ethic, positive attitude, and commitment to high‑quality outcomes.
