About the Role

The Porter/Matron is a vital member of the operations team at C&W Services, responsible for daily and periodic cleaning and general maintenance to keep facilities clean, safe, and well‑maintained. The role involves a range of custodial duties such as trash removal, restroom cleaning, dusting, mopping, vacuuming, hard‑floor and carpet maintenance, and pressure washing, with assignments based on customer expectations, supervisor discretion, and the employee’s skill level. Key duties include performing scheduled cleaning tasks in assigned areas, maintaining neat and organized workspaces including janitorial closets, and following C&W Services‑approved cleaning procedures. Employees must operate and maintain cleaning equipment safely, monitor and replenish supply inventories, use appropriate personal protective equipment, and promptly report unsafe conditions, equipment issues, or security breaches. They are also expected to meet or exceed client‑defined quality standards and assist with onboarding and training of new team members as directed. • Perform daily and scheduled cleaning tasks, including trash removal, restroom cleaning, dusting, mopping, vacuuming, floor care, and pressure washing. • Maintain clean, organized work areas and janitorial closets. • Follow C&W Services cleaning procedures and safety protocols, using appropriate PPE. • Operate, maintain, and report issues with cleaning equipment. • Monitor and replenish inventory of cleaning supplies. • Meet quality standards set by the client and C&W Services. • Assist with onboarding and training of new team members. • Report safety concerns, unsafe conditions, and security breaches promptly.

What You Bring

No prior experience is required for basic custodial tasks; candidates must be able to follow instructions, work independently or as part of a team, and demonstrate high attention to detail, strong work ethic, and physical stamina for manual labor. Preferred candidates have 6 months to 1 year of advanced custodial experience, including floor care and carpet maintenance, and can read and speak English as required by the site. • No prior experience required; must follow instructions, work independently or in a team, and possess high attention to detail and strong work ethic. • Physical stamina required for manual tasks with high energy demands. • Preferred: 6–12 months advanced custodial experience (floor care, carpet maintenance) and English proficiency.
