About the Role
In this position you will direct cross‑functional teams of engineers, planners and other specialists to deliver signaling and Positive Train Control (PTC) designs for multiple concurrent Amtrak and other Northeast Corridor projects. You will apply Systems Engineering processes throughout the project life cycle—from concept development through construction, testing, commissioning and transition to operations—while reviewing designs for compliance, cost, and stakeholder coordination. You will stay current with signal engineering advances, support business development, uphold WSP’s quality standards, and lead contract negotiations, client meetings and staff performance. • Lead cross‑functional teams to design signaling and PTC systems for multiple Northeast Corridor projects. • Apply Systems Engineering processes from concept through commissioning and handover. • Review technical designs, specifications, and cost estimates for compliance and quality. • Stay updated on latest signal engineering techniques and best practices. • Support business development, proposal preparation, and client presentations. • Ensure deliverables meet WSP’s quality standards and contractual requirements. • Negotiate contracts and lead client and internal meetings to resolve project challenges. • Provide performance guidance, mentorship, and leadership to assigned staff. • Collaborate across disciplines to deliver trusted‑advisor services and future‑ready solutions. • Uphold ethical decision‑making, company policies and code of conduct. • Maintain a proven safety record and comply with WSP health, safety and harassment policies.

What You Bring
The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering (or related field), possesses at least ten years of post‑degree experience with signaling and PTC systems on Amtrak or similar railroads, and can obtain an engineering license within six months. Advanced written and verbal communication skills, strong systems‑engineering expertise, critical‑review ability, and proven problem‑solving capabilities are required, along with immediate availability to work in the U.S., a solid safety record, and flexibility for travel and changing schedules. • Hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering (or related discipline) and 10+ years of signaling/PTC experience. • Obtain or hold an engineering license within six months. • Demonstrate advanced written and interpersonal communication skills for technical and non‑technical audiences. • Exhibit strong systems‑engineering knowledge, critical‑review ability and problem‑solving expertise. • Be flexible with schedules, travel as needed, and available to work immediately in the U.S.

The expected salary range for this role is $104,900 – $220,860, with final compensation based on experience, skills, internal equity and location.
