Materials Handler (1ST SHIFT)

About the Role

• Review work orders or follow verbal instructions to move pallets and containers from machines. • Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand. • Move material from storage or work sites to designated areas and ensure operators have needed raw materials. • Stack and assemble materials into bundles, and band the bundles. • Remove empty pallets from equipment. • Perform duties of Shipper/Receiver as assigned. • Operate a forklift as a trained and qualified forklift operator.

What You Bring

Work Environment is typically a comfortable setting but includes regular exposure to factors that may cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk of accident or illness, such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noises, and fumes. The job requires intermittent periods of continuous physical exertion, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting, and maneuvering material or equipment that may be heavy (50+ pounds) or awkward. Typically it requires overnight travel less than 5% of the time. Education and Experience: an HS Diploma or GED is strongly preferred, and specialized skills training or certification may be required. Generally, candidates have 2‑5 years of experience in the area of responsibility.
