Maintenance Mechanic

About the Role

The Marion Mechanic works collaboratively with maintenance and operations teams to safely maintain and improve production equipment. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, repairing, and upgrading machinery across hydraulics, pneumatics, power transmissions, water systems, welding, machining, and pipe fitting, as well as completing process‑improvement projects and supporting operations. The role requires flexibility to work rotating shifts, holidays, and weekends as needed.

What You Bring

Safety is paramount at Nucor; candidates must demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. • Working knowledge of basic mechanical principles and practical mechanical maintenance experience • Two‑year technical degree or equivalent training plus two years industrial maintenance experience (or rolling‑mill experience) • Four‑year technical degree (preferred) • Prior steel industry experience in mechanical maintenance (preferred) • Advanced training or certifications in mechanical maintenance (preferred) • Strong knowledge and experience with preventative and predictive maintenance (preferred)
