Associate Project Director

About the Role

You will champion Mace’s Safety First value by maintaining exceptional safety, quality, cost, programme, sustainability and compliance standards, leveraging advanced knowledge of local health and safety regulations, and fostering a diverse, inclusive environment that prioritises the wellbeing of your team. You will ensure successful delivery of key assignments from inception through design, procurement and construction, aligning with the overall vision and milestones, and you will oversee project management for external clients from start to post‑completion. You will be accountable for project budgets, ensuring fiscal and ethical viability, meeting organisational and legislative compliance, and supporting senior stakeholders in shaping long‑term strategy for a sustainable business future. You will lead and develop your team, network and innovate using Mace’s knowledge hubs, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders up to the C‑Suite to implement and manage programmes. • Advocate and uphold Mace’s Safety First value, ensuring exceptional safety, quality, cost, programme, sustainability and compliance standards. • Apply advanced knowledge of local health and safety regulations and promote a diverse, inclusive work environment. • Deliver key assignments from brief through design, procurement and construction, meeting project milestones. • Oversee project management for external clients from inception to post‑completion. • Manage project budgets to ensure fiscal and ethical viability and meet compliance obligations. • Support senior stakeholders in shaping long‑term strategy for sustainable business growth. • Lead and develop team members, fostering their full potential. • Network, innovate and leverage Mace’s knowledge hubs and centres of excellence. • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including C‑Suite executives, to implement and manage programmes.

What You Bring

Within the consultancy business we combine leading‑edge practical expertise with project‑delivery consultancy to unlock the potential of every project. The role requires membership of RICS, CIOB, APM, ICE or equivalent, extensive experience delivering water‑related infrastructure projects, deep project‑management expertise, strong commercial acumen, experience managing large diverse teams and senior stakeholders, and an understanding of carbon and sustainability considerations.
