About the Role

The position provides exposure to a broad portfolio of projects, including renewable‑energy infrastructure, flood‑management schemes and habitat creation programmes. Depending on your interests you may apply innovative survey techniques, support work‑winning, manage projects, conduct Habitats Regulations Assessments and mentor colleagues on Biodiversity Net Gain. Our supportive environment includes internal and external training, mentoring and coaching, allowing you to develop expertise in ecological data capture, impact assessment and mitigation design. You will also have the chance to act as an Ecological Clerk of Works, ensuring safe delivery of protected‑species surveys on construction sites. • Conduct desk studies and field surveys of habitats, plants, protected and invasive species. • Analyze and interpret ecological data to produce impact assessments and design mitigation strategies. • Deliver safe protected species and habitat surveys and act as Ecological Clerk of Works on construction sites. • Mentor and coach the team on Habitats Regulations Assessments and Biodiversity Net Gain. • Produce high‑quality ecological reports and provide advice to clients and stakeholders.

What You Bring

The ideal candidate has several years of experience in an ecology‑related role, strong knowledge of UK and EC wildlife legislation, and proven ability to lead field surveys and produce high‑quality reports. Expertise in botanical identification, Phase 1 Habitat/NVC surveys and protected‑species work (e.g., bats or dormouse) is highly desirable, along with an adaptable work style to meet peak demands. • Hold experience in ecology roles, leading field surveys and knowledge of UK/EC wildlife legislation. • Skilled in botanical identification, Phase 1 Habitat/NVC surveys and protected‑species surveys (e.g., bats, dormouse). • Adaptable to peak workloads, occasional long or unsocial hours and field travel away from home.
