About the Role

• Represent the firm in interactions with clients, contractors, architects, and project team members. • Design large mechanical projects and prepare reports, specifications, and drawings. • Conduct field inspections to assess existing conditions and coordinate new work. • Collaborate with other disciplines and maintain close contact with the design team. • Create basic designs, select equipment, and perform load, energy, and pressure drop calculations. • Organize drawings following company standards and formats. • Assist in determining project schedules, manpower needs, and budgets. • Process RFIs, change orders, bulletins, and addenda. • Establish system application, design, and operational parameters under senior guidance. • Develop specifications, system narratives, and layouts for various project sizes. • Oversee QA/QC processes for own work and that of others. • Perform construction administration and detailed field investigation reports. • Maintain effective communication with internal teams and external stakeholders such as owners, builders, developers, program managers, architects, and vendors. • Participate in trade organizations and prepare presentations. • Manage CAD/BIM and technical staff assigned to specific projects or tasks. • Support employee performance reviews as needed. • Estimate construction costs and evaluate feasibility using rough order of magnitude (ROM) calculations. • Write engineering proposals under senior direction. • Coordinate mechanical systems with architectural, structural, electrical, and telecom disciplines, ensuring constructability and cost efficiency.

What You Bring

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer II‑IV to join our Charlotte, NC team. Your consulting experience will contribute to the design of major projects across all phases worldwide, and you will work alongside a national network of over 100 engineers, offering strong growth potential. • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university. • Bring 1.5–8 years of consulting experience, with LEED AP accreditation highly preferred. • Demonstrate working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit. • Maintain EIT certification; PE preferred.
