Job Highlights
About the Role
Drivers operate heavy‑duty trucks equipped with front, side, or rear lift attachments, transporting waste, recyclables, or large roll‑off containers to disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities. Roles include Commercial Drivers handling heavy containers, Residential Drivers navigating neighborhoods, and Roll‑off Drivers managing large open‑top containers in various environments. Key duties involve operating vehicles in compliance with WM Safety, OSHA, DOT, and all applicable laws, performing pre‑ and post‑trip inspections, reporting unsafe conditions, and attending required training. Drivers communicate with Operations Managers or Dispatch regarding incidents, service interruptions, and customer requests, ensure containers are emptied and sites left clean, and complete end‑of‑day documentation. • Operate heavy‑duty trucks with lift attachments to transport waste and recyclables. • Perform pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections and complete DVIR reports. • Follow WM Safety, OSHA, DOT, and all local, state, and federal regulations. • Report incidents, service interruptions, and customer requests to Operations Manager or Dispatch. • Safely dump containers, keep sites clean, and document end‑of‑day activities. • Maintain route efficiency and assist other drivers as needed.

What You Bring
Applicants must possess a valid Class A or Class B CDL with an air‑brake endorsement, at least one year of qualifying driving experience, be 18 years of age, and be legally authorized to work in the country. A high school diploma or GED is preferred. The role requires physical activities such as standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, handling, sitting, talking, and hearing, with accommodations available for individuals with disabilities. • Hold a valid Class A or B CDL with air‑brake endorsement and at least one year of driving experience. • Be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the United States or Canada. • Preferred: High school diploma or GED. • Physical tasks include standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, handling, sitting, talking, and hearing.
