About the Role
The Tool Room Attendant is responsible for maintaining a continuous inventory of all tools, tracking daily issue, monitoring shortages or lost tools, and completing assured grounding training. The role requires understanding safety hazards, using work‑related tools and equipment safely, and working in plant operations or construction jobsite settings. In this position the attendant keeps maintenance logs and a tool‑tracking system, performs routine maintenance on small engines, repairs or replaces broken tools, inspects power cords, replaces damaged handles, and assists other craft workers as needed. • Maintain maintenance log and tool‑tracking system. • Perform routine maintenance on small engines (generators, sand tamps, water pumps, etc.). • Repair, tag, or replace broken tools. • Inspect extension and power cords for damage. • Replace broken handles on hammers, shovels, and similar tools. • Assist other craft workers as needed. • Make decisions, remain detail‑oriented, and concentrate amid distractions.

The job demands physical stamina to lift up to 50 lb (occasionally 100 lb), perform repetitive hand/arm tasks, climb ladders, and work on uneven or adverse weather conditions, while also requiring mental abilities such as clear communication, decision‑making, detail orientation, and the capacity to direct others and stay focused amid distractions. • Able to lift/push/pull up to 50 lb (occasionally 100 lb) and perform repetitive hand/arm tasks. • Capable of climbing ladders, scaffolds, and working on uneven or muddy surfaces. • Comfortable working in adverse weather conditions and confined spaces. • Communicate clearly, read/write, and direct others effectively.
