About the Role

Essential duties include working safely, making safety observations, and following standard work and control plans. The operator sets up and changes over PVD machines, runs production equipment, and produces acceptable‑quality parts. Parts are inspected against product quality requirements, and machine output, uptime, and yield are monitored. Preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, cleaning, and 5S housekeeping are performed. The employee generates ideas and solves problems using continuous‑improvement tools. • Work safely and report hazards. • Perform tasks according to standard work and control plans. • Set up and change over PVD machines. • Operate PVD production equipment to produce quality parts. • Inspect parts against product quality requirements. • Monitor machine output, uptime, and yield. • Conduct preventive maintenance and troubleshoot equipment. • Clean equipment and maintain 5S housekeeping. • Generate ideas and solve problems using continuous‑improvement tools. • Maintain acceptable disciplinary and attendance records. • Apply problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills. • Read and interpret safety rules, specifications, work instructions, and ERP systems. • Perform basic arithmetic calculations. • Apply reasoning to follow written, oral, or diagram instructions.

What You Bring

Employees must have acceptable disciplinary and attendance records, a color acuity score of 40 or less, and qualify as a PQR Expert. Prior machine operating experience, problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work with limited supervision are required. Overtime availability and the ability to lift up to 50 lb are expected, along with certifications in confined spaces, fall protection, or willingness to obtain them. A human performance evaluation may be required to confirm physical capability. The role requires reading and interpreting safety rules, specifications, standard work instructions, and systems such as MPS, SFM, QMS, and ERP. Basic mathematical skills for adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing are necessary. Reasoning ability is needed to follow written, oral, or diagram instructions and understand reports. Physical demands include standing, walking, reaching, and occasional lifting of up to 40 lb, with occasional exposure to moving equipment, fumes, and moderate noise. • Possess a color acuity score ≤40 and be a PQR Expert. • Demonstrate prior machine operating experience. • Work with limited supervision and willingness to work overtime. • Lift up to 50 lb; certified in confined spaces and fall protection or willing to obtain certification.

Benefits

Specialty Operator 1 (PVD) – 1st shift pays $24.00‑$25.60 depending on hire date. The role is a PVD Chamber Operator supporting Technical Services, reporting to the CI Technician and Finishing Engineer, and is responsible for processing parts in PVD chambers, performing quality inspections, basic preventive maintenance, 5S, and continuous improvement activities.
