About the Role
The Sourcing Specialist – Buying/Procurement role sits within the India Procurement Management Center of Excellence and is responsible for buying and fulfillment of valve parts. The specialist will follow an individual work plan, manage global stakeholders and suppliers, meet short‑term objectives, and resolve issues through immediate action and long‑term planning, ensuring coordination and timely communication throughout the supply chain. The position requires close collaboration with site material, engineering and project teams to address shortages, implement process improvements, and maintain accurate order and logistics management while adhering to regulatory and import requirements. • Float RFQs/inquiries to global suppliers for casting, machining, and catalogue parts. • Drive cost reductions, savings, and BCC penetration while optimizing the supplier base. • Conduct techno‑commercial negotiations and perform should‑cost analyses. • Assess supplier capabilities and review manufacturing schedules/Gantt charts. • Evaluate and monitor supplier performance via weekly/monthly scorecards. • Collaborate with site material, engineering, and project teams to address shortages and implement process improvements. • Communicate critical parts status, readiness dates, and documentation to stakeholders. • Manage order push‑out and pull‑in, organize parts pick‑up, and reduce logistics costs. • Maintain order control, shipping notices, and system updates. • Resolve supplier payment issues and lead corrective actions. • Develop risk‑mitigation strategies, including contingency plans and lead‑time reductions.

What You Bring
• Apply knowledge of Incoterms and EU/US regulatory and import requirements. • Hold an engineering degree or diploma with 4‑7 years of sourcing experience, preferably mechanical/industrial engineering. • Possess prior valve manufacturing experience and familiarity with foundry processes (desired). • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Ariba. • Strong business acumen in inventory, planning, and quality management. • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a demanding international environment. • Strong quantitative, data analysis and presentation skills. • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication abilities. • Technical expertise in risk assessment. • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
