About the Role
The engineer will oversee construction activities, maintain accurate meeting records, ensure project documentation complies with established controls, and coordinate closely with the client’s project team and contractor personnel. Responsibilities also include supporting payment applications, progress reporting, and handling the transition of close‑out documents to operations. Additional duties involve preparing agendas and materials for design‑engineering meetings, assisting project managers with specifications and financial updates, facilitating reviews and capturing action items, collaborating with Operations and the commissioning team, and adhering to SOX control requirements when applicable. • Manage individual construction tasks throughout project lifecycle. • Transcribe meeting minutes and drive action items to closure. • Ensure compliance with project document controls and file specifications. • Administer project close‑out specifications and turnover documentation. • Collaborate regularly with client project team and contractor operatives. • Support payment applications and progress reporting processes. • Process requests for information (log, record, report) for review and sign‑off. • Administer change orders (log, record, report) for review and sign‑off. • Coordinate project meetings and prepare agendas/documents. • Administer project observation reports. • Transition close‑out documentation to operations. • Facilitate page‑turn reviews, capture comments, and assign action items. • Assist project managers with monthly financial updates and forecasts. • Support project commissioning team and work with Operations as needed. • Adhere to SOX control responsibilities where applicable.

What You Bring
Turner & Townsend is seeking an ambitious, meticulous and self‑starting Construction Project Design Engineer to support core coordination efforts for a client. The role reports directly to the client’s construction project managers and is performed 100 % onsite Monday through Friday. Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering management, architecture, construction management or a related field (or possess equivalent experience) and have three to five years of experience as a Design Project Engineer on increasingly complex construction projects. Required experience includes both CSA (civil, structural, architectural) and MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) trades, with preferred background in industrial/defense and facility construction, as well as strong numerical, technical and MS Office skills. • Bachelor’s degree in engineering management, architecture, construction management or related field (or equivalent experience). • 3‑5 years experience as Design Project Engineer on increasing‑complexity projects. • Required experience in CSA (civil, structural, architectural) and MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) trades. • Preferred experience in industrial/defense and facility construction. • Strong numerical, technical and MS Office/web‑based data platform skills.
