About the Role

The role involves routine soil sampling, calibration of testing equipment, and performing soil, concrete, and asphalt laboratory tests to verify compliance with project specifications, followed by daily preparation of comprehensive testing reports. The technician will review plans and drawings, perform data analysis, interact with client representatives on‑site, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams while adhering to WSP’s Code of Conduct. • Conduct routine soil sampling and testing in the field • Calibrate testing equipment and perform laboratory analysis of soil, concrete, and asphalt • Prepare and submit daily testing reports with complete documentation • Review project plans, specifications, and drawings before testing • Analyze data to verify accuracy and reasonableness of results • Communicate with client supervisors, foremen, project managers, and engineers on‑site • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to execute project tasks • Follow ethical decision‑making and WSP’s Code of Conduct • Prepare technical reports and documentation

What You Bring

WSP is expanding and seeking an Assistant Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Technician to conduct field and laboratory testing for construction projects in El Paso, Texas. • Maintain a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record • Possess 3+ years of geotechnical testing experience • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills • Use basic Microsoft Word and Excel functions • Pass background check and obtain required medical clearance • Preferred: Current TxDOT Level 1A or 1B certification • Physical ability to lift up to 40 lb and work in extreme temperature conditions
