About the Role

The Senior Manager, SOX Compliance will be based in Sunbelt's support office in Fort Mill and report to the Senior Director, SOX Compliance. This role is part of the second‑line SOX Compliance team and works closely with finance, operational, and technology teams as well as senior management. The individual will maintain and support business processes and internal controls to meet SEC and PCAOB regulations, requiring a deep understanding of Sunbelt's diverse operations. The position involves designing, implementing, and monitoring a robust control framework in line with ICFR and the COSO methodology, while also developing annual risk assessments and maintaining comprehensive process documentation. It requires coordinating walkthroughs, addressing control deficiencies, preparing compliance reports, and staying current on regulatory updates. Collaboration with auditors, technology partners, and cross‑functional teams is essential to integrate data analytics and optimize ERP systems. • Lead coordination with business process control owners to design, implement, and ensure effectiveness of controls per ICFR and COSO. • Develop annual risk assessments and maintain key process documentation such as narratives, flowcharts, and risk/control matrices. • Conduct walkthroughs, assess control design effectiveness, and collaborate with internal audit. • Drive remediation of control deficiencies and report SOX compliance status to management. • Support auditors during audit engagements and stay current on SOX, GAAP, COSO, and ICFR updates. • Provide SOX training and guidance to control operators and perform annual report logic testing. • Partner with technology, finance, and operations to integrate data analytics and optimize ERP systems (Oracle, Wynne RentalMan, etc.). • Assist with integration efforts for acquisitions or system changes impacting controls. • Coach and develop team members and control owners, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. • Attract, develop, and retain top talent, managing performance and career development.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA required; Master’s preferred. • 10+ years progressive accounting/finance experience in large public companies ($5B+), preferably with public accounting background. • Strong leadership, change management, and communication skills. • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and detail‑oriented mindset. • Proven ability to partner with cross‑functional teams. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Power BI, Alteryx, or similar reporting tools.
