About the Role

The Weekend Shift Operations Supervisor I supports and engages production associates, ensuring daily production goals and quality standards are met while maintaining a hazard‑free environment. Responsibilities include inventory control, directing work, performance management, coaching, rewarding, and resolving complaints. • Ensure production processes and inspections meet the highest quality standards. • Prioritize, schedule, and direct associates to maintain efficient workflow and achieve performance goals. • Evaluate and recommend improvements for processes, equipment, associate utilization, and product quality. • Maintain clear communication with Operations Managers, Supervisors, Leads, and production staff. • Review and schedule daily labor requirements with the Operations Manager. • Prepare, analyze, and submit data and reports to other departments. • Develop, empower, and lead a cohesive, diverse team while ensuring policy compliance. • Facilitate training and development for new and existing associates, including onboarding and career pathways. • Manage conflicts, performance issues, recognize achievements, and provide corrective feedback. • Promote a positive health and safety culture through safe work practices and clean work areas. • Work weekend shift Friday–Sunday, 5 am–5 pm. • Prioritize workload and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. • Read and interpret reports, work instructions, and blueprints. • Develop, empower, and lead a team effectively.

What You Bring

Safety is the most important aspect of every Nucor job; candidates must demonstrate the ability to lead, uphold, and continuously improve safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards. • Demonstrate a strong manufacturing background and prior leadership experience. • Exhibit high attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. • Collaborate and function well as a team member. • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel. • Travel as needed with a valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance. • Read, write, and present simple correspondence in one‑on‑one or small‑group settings. • Solve practical problems and interpret varied instructions. • Perform basic math calculations and interpret bar graphs. • Possess a high school diploma/GED or 2‑4 years related experience or training. • Lift 50‑75 lb occasionally and squat, kneel, or stand frequently. • Experience in assembly, machining, metal fabrication, or powdercoat line is a plus.
