About the Role
Mortenson is currently seeking a Superintendent I (Night Shift) who will coordinate, plan, and supervise assistant superintendents, contractors, and craft activities in a specific discipline, while developing and enhancing customer relationships through excellent service. This role involves overseeing project logistics, safety, quality, and team performance. • Plan and implement material, equipment, and inspection schedules to support the project timeline. • Review construction and contract documents for completeness and constructability. • Coordinate plans and specifications with design engineers, resolving discrepancies. • Develop and manage project schedules, including three‑ and six‑week look‑ahead plans. • Create a site logistics plan and lead utilization of Mortenson tools and equipment. • Collaborate with partner superintendents and conduct on‑site orientations, pre‑construction sessions, and site meetings. • Supervise project partners, craft foremen, and crews; manage hiring, transfers, and dismissals as needed. • Coach and mentor assistant superintendents, craft team members, and other project personnel. • Ensure proper task coding on timecards, track work progress and craft productivity. • Oversee craft team training, career development discussions, and performance management. • Foster relationships with diverse backgrounds and organizational levels, providing coaching and feedback. • Provide high‑level management of safety, quality, risk, and compliance, and mitigate unfavorable conditions while improving processes.

Mortenson does not accept unsolicited agency communications without a valid agreement. • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil/Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or 10 years of trade experience. • Minimum five years of construction management or related experience. • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 100 %. • Ability to manage multiple, complex projects and organize numerous tasks. • Basic understanding of construction law and business practices. • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills and strong customer service attitude. • Effective communication, active listening, and openness to diverse input and feedback. • Knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity, inclusive behaviors, and affirmative action plans.
