About the Role
The Senior Project Engineer will be responsible for establishing project systems, managing delivery and completion, and monitoring programme, budget, quality, environmental and contractual obligations, taking corrective action when needed. They will also oversee the client handover process and review design and construction plans, schedules, temporary works designs, method statements and job safety analyses. Downer plans, creates and sustains essential public services across Australia and New Zealand, managing critical infrastructure such as hospitals, data centres and defence partnerships that keep communities thriving. • Establish project systems, manage delivery and completion. • Monitor programme, budget, quality, environmental and contractual obligations; implement corrective actions. • Oversee client handover process. • Review designs, schedules, temporary works, method statements and job safety analyses. • Develop compliance methodologies for scope and technical criteria. • Develop and manage SHEQ processes and supervise others.

What You Bring
We have an opening for a Senior Project Engineer with a background in Infrastructure Services. The role will support the Riverina Redevelopment Joint Venture (RRJV), a 50/50 partnership between Downer and CPB Contractors that is undertaking major upgrades and replacement of existing infrastructure and facilities. Candidates must hold an NV1 Security Clearance to work on the redevelopment covering the Albury‑Wodonga Military Area, Blamey Barracks (Kapooka) and RAAF Base Wagga. This is a site‑based position at RAAF Base Wagga and relocation packages are available. The ideal candidate will hold or be able to obtain an NV1 Government Security Clearance, possess an engineering degree with relevant infrastructure services experience, and have proven experience delivering medium‑to‑large complex projects with multiple stakeholders. They must be able to develop compliance methodologies, provide commercial planning and reporting, manage SHEQ processes, travel between sites, and demonstrate a strong work ethic and positive attitude. • Hold or obtain NV1 Government Security Clearance. • Engineering degree with infrastructure services experience. • Proven delivery of medium‑to‑large complex projects with multiple stakeholders. • Commercial planning up to 3 months ahead, weekly progress and cost reporting, risk reporting and treatment planning. • Ability to travel between sites as required. • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, commitment to high‑quality outcomes.
