About the Role

• Consult with all stores to resolve critical technical problems and enhance dealer technicians' competencies • Provide technical support for Mustang Power Systems shop and field service departments, including large‑bore, marine, and rebuild machining operations • Communicate with CAT engineers via DSN to quickly resolve technical issues • Perform applied failure analysis, complete goodwill requests, and coordinate with district CAT Representative on technical resolutions • Work with Technical Services team and service technicians to troubleshoot and solve problems • Assist in defining and solving technical problems • Support sales and parts departments with technical matters • Develop and maintain cohesive teamwork across all departments • Collaborate closely with Caterpillar to develop economical solutions to product issues

What You Bring

The Technical Communicator collaborates with stores, service technicians, sales and parts departments, and Caterpillar engineers to resolve technical problems, develop economical solutions, and support field service departments. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required, and the role may cover additional duties when other communicators are absent. • College degree in Diesel Technology, Ag Mechanization, or related field, or equivalent experience • In‑depth knowledge of internal combustion engines and differences between spark‑ignition and compression‑ignition engines • Ability to read schematics, engineering drawings, and machining specifications • Proficiency with precision measuring equipment such as dial bore gauges, calipers, O.D. micrometers, depth micrometers, profilometers, T‑gauges, and gauge blocks • Knowledge of water brake and inertial dyno testing procedures, nomenclature, and performance troubleshooting • Familiarity with CAT and Mustang data/service systems and applications • Strong soft‑skill abilities to influence service revenue and sales growth in a competitive environment
