About the Role

The ITS Engineer will review and approve FSDDs, shop drawings, material submissions, method statements, and test plans; coordinate installation of ITS devices, fiber, power, and civil foundations; conduct site inspections for workmanship, safety, and design compliance; oversee factory, site, and reliability testing; and maintain documentation, variation support, and final commissioning. • Supervise ITS design input, specification interpretation, deployment, testing, and integration of components (RVDS, Bluetooth, CCTV, DMS). • Review and recommend approval of FSDDs, shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and test plans. • Coordinate installation of ITS devices, fiber optic networks, power systems, and civil foundations. • Conduct routine site inspections to verify workmanship, safety, and compliance with approved designs. • Oversee and witness FAT, SAT, prototype, OTDR fiber, communication, power, and reliability tests; close punch lists before handover. • Maintain accurate documentation of approvals, changes, correspondence, and photographic records. • Support Resident Engineer with variation orders, claims, as‑built verification, O&M documentation, and final system commissioning. • Attend ITS meetings, prepare minutes, and manage correspondence responses. • Ensure contractor compliance with contract documents, safety conditions, and coordination with other contractors. • Review and approve as‑built drawings and maintain status logs.

What You Bring

Parsons is seeking an experienced ITS Engineer to support the Resident Engineer in administrative, technical, and operational aspects of Intelligent Transportation Systems. The engineer will oversee design input, specification compliance, deployment, testing, and integration of ITS components such as RVDS, Bluetooth sensors, CCTV, and DMS, and ensure contractor compliance and proper handover. Candidates must have at least 7 years of engineering experience and a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. Required knowledge includes ITS technologies, fiber optic and IP communications, power distribution, cybersecurity, traffic engineering, NTCIP, ONVIF, and design tools such as CAD and GIS. Strong coordination, stakeholder management, project documentation, and communication skills are essential, and CCNA certification is a plus. • Minimum 7 years of engineering experience; bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics & Communications, Computer, Civil engineering (with ITS) or related field. • Strong understanding of ITS technologies (CCTV, RVDS, RWIS, Bluetooth, DMS, C‑ITS, LIDAR, AI‑detection). • Expertise in fiber optic networks, IP communication, and power distribution for ITS. • Knowledge of local RTA/SRTA standards, cybersecurity, network architecture, and traffic engineering concepts. • Proficiency in ITS system architecture, central system interfacing, and design tools (CAD, GIS). • Familiarity with NTCIP, ONVIF, PoE, SNMP, VLANs and ability to interpret civil, electrical, mechanical drawings. • Strong coordination, stakeholder‑management, project documentation, and communication skills. • Experience with CCTV over networks; comfortable with VM, Linux, Windows environments. • CCNA certification preferred.
