About the Role

The trainee will support all phases of utility construction on telecom projects, assisting linemen with cable placement, connections, and hardware installation. Duties include aerial tasks such as new cable installs, pole transfers, strand building, and cable hanging, as well as construction work like digging holes and installing conduit systems. Work is performed from utility poles or aerial lift trucks following system designs. • Provide assistance to the Lineman in the completion of their duties • Assist in placing aerial/buried telecommunications cable (copper and fiber) • Assist in connecting wires and cables to terminals and attaching/detaching various kinds of hardware to wires, cables, buildings, or poles • Perform aerial tasks such as new cable installs, pole transfers, strand building, cable hanging, lashing, etc. • Perform construction work such as digging holes, placing cable, air pipe, and inner duct in various types of conduit systems and open excavations • Climb utility poles and/or use an aerial lift truck to place cables on poles per system design

What You Bring

Candidates must prioritize safety, demonstrate high‑quality workmanship, and enjoy hands‑on problem solving. The role seeks experienced linemen comfortable working from bucket trucks, climbing poles, and handling aerial equipment. A valid Class A CDL (or the ability to obtain one) and basic experience with copper and fiber cable placement are required. • Prior safety focus in daily work • Proven high-quality workmanship • Strong problem‑solving skills and hands‑on approach • Experienced lineman knowledgeable of aerial equipment • Ability to work from a bucket truck and climb poles • Valid Class A CDL (or ability to obtain) with clean driving record • Basic experience installing copper and fiber telecommunications cable
