About the Role

The Supervisor, Radiation Protection directs Radiation Protection Technicians in decontamination, instrumentation, planning, scheduling, procedures, training, radiation exposure control and rad‑waste programs to support plant operations and maintenance. The role ensures compliance with regulatory and state requirements and serves as the interface with plant staff and regulators on Radiation Protection matters. The supervisor provides daily supervision, monitoring and coaching of staff to maintain productivity, policy compliance, and employee‑relations per collective bargaining agreements. They manage the functional Radiation Protection program to keep work on schedule and nuclear worker exposure as low as reasonably achievable (ALARA). They communicate company programs, policies and feedback to and from assigned employees, and directly supervise Laborers/Radiation Protection Technicians, including hiring, training and field oversight. They are accountable for plant contaminated area metrics and personnel contamination events, develop effective oral and written communications, and perform additional assignments such as emergency response, departmental coverage, call‑outs and outage support. • Direct Radiation Protection Technicians in decontamination, instrumentation, planning, training, exposure control and rad‑waste programs. • Ensure compliance with regulatory and state radiation protection requirements and serve as liaison with plant staff and regulators. • Supervise, monitor and coach employees daily, maintaining productivity and adherence to company policies and collective bargaining agreements. • Manage the Radiation Protection program to keep work on schedule and keep worker exposure ALARA. • Communicate company programs, policies and employee feedback effectively across all levels. • Oversee hiring, training and field performance of Laborers/Radiation Protection Technicians. • Track and improve plant contaminated square footage and personnel contamination events. • Prepare and deliver clear oral and written communications for diverse audiences. • Participate in emergency response, departmental coverage, call‑outs and outage support as needed.

What You Bring

Candidates must meet one of the following: a bachelor’s degree plus five years of applied radiation‑protection experience; a current or prior Senior Reactor Operator license plus five years of experience; an associate’s degree plus seven years of experience; or a high‑school diploma/GED plus nine years of experience. They must also meet access requirements and pass a favorable medical examination aligned with job duties. Preferred credentials include successful completion of the National Registry Radiation Protection Technicians (NRRPT) certification and an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a science‑related field such as health physics, chemistry, physics or medical physics. • Meet required experience levels (e.g., BA + 5 yrs, SRO license + 5 yrs, AA + 7 yrs, or HS diploma + 9 yrs) and maintain access and medical qualifications. • Obtain NRRPT certification and possess a science‑related associate’s or bachelor’s degree (preferred).

The expected salary range for this role is $127,800‑$142,000, dependent on experience, plus the full benefits suite.
